Practicing Your Oral Skills

Intermediate and advanced students can draw upon their own imaginations and opinions to help them improve their verbal skills by orally answering the questions from the 25 guided essays. The students can practice basic verb tenses and advanced verb tenses that can also help develop their critical thinking skills.

Present Tense Questions
The Spanish present tense, called el presente, is quite similar in usage to the English present tense. El presente is used to express current actions and situations, habitual actions, absolute and general truths, actions which will occur in the near future and conditions in si clauses.

Preterit Tense Questions
El preterito is used for past actions that are seen as completed, actions that can be viewed as single events, actions that were repeated a specific number of times or occurred during a specific period of time, used to state the beginning or the end of an action, and actions that were part of a chain of events.
