Viking Academy’s Hydroponics System Up and Running
Denmark, WI – Viking Academy is excited to start its hydroponics system for the school year. They are proud to be working with Fork Farms who brings sustainable, hands-on learning to students throughout the year. The innovative indoor farming unit allows students to grow fresh produce without soil, using nutrient-rich water and energy-efficient lighting. This system provides an engaging way for students to explore topics in science, technology, and environmental studies while learning about healthy food production and sustainability.
To help get the system up and running, Viking Academy has partnered with Anna Brant, Partnership Success Representative from Fork Farms. Anna has been working closely with staff and students to ensure a smooth setup and provide training on maintaining and harvesting crops. This program not only enhances classroom learning but also gives students a sense of ownership and responsibility as they see the fruits—quite literally—of their efforts grow right before their eyes.
