Educational Screening

Parenting small children is extremely challenging as you nurture your child's physical, emotional, and academic development. Many parents wonder if their child is developing within the average range in these areas and, if not, what they can do to help their child. As your educational partner in the community, the School District of Denmark offers free educational screenings for children who will be 3-4 years of age by September 1.

The purpose of this screening is to assist parents in monitoring their child's readiness levels prior to entering 4 or 5 year old kindergarten and to provide free educational resources to those children determined eligible for additional assistance. To take advantage of this free screening, we ask that you please complete 2 questionnaires. The ASQ-3 and the SE-2.  (Links can be found below)

If your child scores in a range below average on this questionnaire, a school staff member will contact you to schedule a free individualized screening for your child to further assess their readiness development. If your child is identified as needing further screening, but is not a district resident, you will be encouraged to inform your resident school to ask for a screening or evaluation. All information about your child and your family will be kept confidential. If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you for participating in this screening procedure.
