Assistant Principal's Message

“Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” Rita Pearson
Hello Vikings! My name is Josh Rankin and I am incredibly excited to be the Activities Director and Associate Principal at Denmark High School. I come into this role with 20 years experience in education and 16 years of experience coaching basketball. I’ve been fortunate enough to wear many hats in my professional career, and this is the one I’m most excited about!
Along with me on this new adventure are my wife, Quinne and our 3 children, Oliver (8th grade), Bella (5th grade) and Ellis (3rd grade). We live in our forever home in the woods in the town of Scott. My wife grew up in Green Bay and we absolutely love living in NE Wisconsin, even in the winter.
Teaching and school leadership have taken me many different places. I have taught in public schools, private schools, international schools, rural schools, urban schools, virtual schools and suburban schools. I have grown and learned from every single place I’ve been. I believe in being a lifelong learner not only professionally but also personally. Experiences make us rich and I’ve been very fortunate to have many experiences that have helped shape who I am.
Activities play a vital role in providing experiences of commitment, togetherness, pride, confidence and being a part of something larger than ourselves. For these reasons, I’m incredibly honored to be here as your Activities Director and Assistant Principal. I’m so excited to be a part of Denmark High School and am looking forward to working with all of you to continue making this school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Go Vikings!
