Congratulations to DHS senior Michael Vander Kinter! He is a top ten finalist in the state in the area of Wisconsin FFA Star in Ag Placement AND Star Farmer.
After compiling all of his financial records, assessing his strengths and weaknesses, determining program efficiency factors, identifying and describing his skills and abilities, writing multiple essays explaining each of his programs in detail, and getting letters of recommendation, he submitted two separate applications. Both applications consisted of 43 pages when all of his information was entered. He worked on both applications outside of school time.
He will now go through a personal interview to justify his program and answer clarifying questions about his application to determine his final placing. The final results will be announced at the Wisconsin FFA Convention on June 11th. His application was one of about 375 degree applications submitted.
